CNC turning is a chip removal machining process that shapes a rotating workpiece (made of metal, plastic, or wood) by removing excess material with a fixed cutting tool to create cylindrical, conical, or contoured shapes with high precision. The workpiece, clamped to a spindle, rotates while the tool moves along it, removing material to achieve the desired shape, such as shafts, axles, or other mechanical components.
CNC milling uses a rotating cutting tool that removes excess material from the workpiece (made of metal, plastic, or wood) fixed to a table. The milling cutter, controlled by a computer, can move along multiple axes to create complex and high-quality shapes.
